Code of Conduct
Last updated:
Our pledge
BAQC is a community for aspiring QA engineers. That word matters. Most of us were beginners once, and many of us still are at something. We pledge to make participation in BAQC a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, background, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, level of experience, or programming language preferences.
Behavior we welcome
- Curiosity. Ask the question. There are no stupid questions, only questions someone hasn’t been brave enough to ask yet.
- Patience with beginners. Everyone in this community is learning something. Meet them where they are.
- Constructive feedback. Critique ideas, not people. “This test case has a gap” is great. “You don’t know what you’re doing” is not.
- Crediting others. When someone helps you, say so. When you build on someone else’s work, name them.
- Speaking up. If you see something wrong, tell an organizer. We can’t fix what we don’t know about.
Behavior we will not tolerate
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind
- Sexualized language or imagery, or unwelcome sexual attention
- Personal attacks, name-calling, or insults
- Public or private harassment, including doxxing
- Gatekeeping or condescension toward beginners
- Spam, self-promotion masquerading as content, or recruiter messages without consent
- Anything illegal under Bangladeshi law
Where this applies
This Code of Conduct applies in all BAQC spaces: meetups, workshops, online channels (Slack, Discord, Telegram, etc.), GitHub repositories, and any platform where BAQC has an official presence. It also applies when you represent BAQC publicly — for example, by speaking on our behalf or wearing BAQC branding.
Reporting
If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please contact the organizers via the email on the contact page. All reports will be:
- Reviewed promptly
- Kept as confidential as we reasonably can
- Taken seriously regardless of who is involved
Enforcement
Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warnings, temporary bans, or permanent removal from BAQC spaces. We reserve the right to act without prior warning in serious cases.
Attribution
This Code of Conduct is inspired by the Contributor Covenant and adapted for the realities of running a community in Bangladesh.
